Former royal estate, Medevial castle originaly buildt in the 11th an 12th century Perched 1300m above the borders of the Haute Alpes and Italy, 50km from Briançon et 80km from Gap the chateau-fortress stands on a rocky outcrop.
The chateau is listed as a historic monument and was first mentioned in 1260. During the 16th century it was attacked during the Wars of Religion and held out against a Savoyard invasion in 1692. The chateau was remodelled by Vauban in the early 18th century and reinforced again in the 19th century. An exceptionnal and unique property, A must-see.
